[Planer]What is Planer Safety Practice

What is Planer

Planer It is a planer with linear reciprocating motion. The ram carries a planing knife. It is named after the knife holder at the front end of the ram is shaped like a bull’s head. The main motion of the planer is mainly driven by a crank-rocker mechanism, so the moving speed of the ram is uneven.

Large-scale planers mostly use hydraulic transmission, and the ram basically moves at a constant speed. Planing of flat surfaces, forming surfaces and grooves on small and medium-sized workpieces in one-piece, small-batch production.

Main features of the planer

1. The worktable of the planer can turn left and right, and the worktable has a horizontal and vertical fast moving mechanism; Planes sloping planes, thus extending the range of use.

2. The feed system of the planer adopts a cam mechanism with 10 levels of feed. It is also very convenient to change the amount of cutting.

3. The planer is equipped with an overload safety mechanism in the cutting tool system. When the cutting tool is overloaded due to careless operation or external force, the cutting tool will slip by itself, and the machine will not be damaged to ensure the normal operation of the machine tool.

4. The lubricating oil from the oil pump is used for circulating lubrication between the ram and the bed guide, as well as the gear pair with speed and the main sliding guide surface.

5. The planer is equipped with a clutch and a braking and parking mechanism, so it is not necessary to cut off the power supply when changing the speed, starting the machine tool and parking. The braking and parking mechanism can make the ram stop when the clutch is disengaged. The inertia stroke amount is not more than 10 mm.

Operating Regulations for Bull Planers

1. Conscientiously implement the relevant provisions of the “General Operating Regulations for Metal Cutting Machine Tools”.

2. Conscientiously implement the following supplementary regulations

3. Do the following carefully before work:

1. Check that the feed ratchet cover should be installed correctly and tightly Reliable, to prevent loosening during feeding.

2. Before the dry running test, the ram should be turned back and forth by hand, and the ram should be moved back and forth after confirming that it is in good condition.

4. Do it carefully in the work:

1. When the beam is lifted and lowered, the locking screw must be loosened first, and the screw should be tightened during work.

2. It is not allowed to adjust the ram stroke while the machine tool is running. When adjusting the stroke of the ram, it is not allowed to use the tapping method to loosen or press the adjustment handle.

3. The stroke of the ram shall not exceed the specified range. Do not drive at high speed when using longer strokes.

4. When the worktable is fed or shaken by hand, pay attention to the limit of the lead screw stroke to prevent the lead screw and nut from disengaging or damaging the machine tool by impact.

5. When loading and unloading the vice, it should be handled with care to avoid bumping the workbench.

5. After work, stop the workbench at the middle position of the beam.

Troubleshooting of Planer

Uneven Feeding of Planer

1. Universal joint The gap between the bevel teeth at both ends of the shaft section is too large.

2. The forks at both ends of the universal joint are not in the same plane.

3. The clearance between the pin shaft and the hole of the universal joint crosshead is too large.

4. The ratchet pawl is in poor contact.

5. The positioning of the feeding box is too low.

The oil separator of the planer fails to adjust and the oil pipe falls off

1. The adjustment bolt of the oil separator is too loose.

2. The oil separator adjusts the deflection of the conical bolt.

3. The tubing is not bundled firmly.

Oil leakage from the planer

1. The tightening bolts on the connection surface of the box are not tightened.

2. The contact surface of the box is dirty.

3. The contact surface of the box is not uniformly glued.

The brake of the planer is not sensitive

1. The tie rod adjusting nut of the brake is loose.

2. The position of the brake lever is not adjusted properly.
