The difference between online UPS and backup UPS
1. Input difference
The online UPS directly obtains AC power, and converts AC-DC Inverter power supplies are used in electronic equipment. A backup UPS power supply gets AC power and is charged, but the charged AC-DC inverter power is only used in the event of a power failure.
2. Differences in battery usage

5. Installation differences
Online UPS power supplies are mainly installed in indoor spaces or special rooms. The backup UPS power system is suitable for indoor or outdoor installation, and outdoor installation can significantly reduce installation costs.
6. Efficiency difference
Using on-line UPS power rectifier and inverter, the energy efficiency is usually 90% to 92%, including the air conditioning part. The energy efficiency of the backup UPS power system is 98% to 99%, which is 6% to 9% higher than that of the traditional UPS power system, reducing operating costs.
7. There are differences in the fields of use
(1) The backup UPS power supply is generally smaller in power, and is mostly used for temporary power supply, such as household personal electricity, personal computer host, etc. The frequency and voltage are relatively stable, and the power requirements are not very high.
(2) The power range of online UPS power supply is large, from one KVA to several hundred KVA, and it is used in a wide range, from data centers, servers, elevators, supermarket power supplies, etc. It can be used to meet different environmental requirements.
8. There are differences in market prices
In terms of prices, there are also big differences between the two UPS power sources. Generally speaking, the price of online UPS power supply of the same power and brand is much higher than the price of backup UPS power supply. However, because the backup UPS power supply is not directly connected to the mains and the load, the inverter is normally turned off, so the maintenance cost of the backup power supply is relatively low.
