An axial flow fan is a type of fan in which airflow moves parallel to the axis of the fan blades. These fans are widely used in various applications. The model number of an axial flow fan typically refers to the diameter of the fan blade. For example, in the model FZY4:

  • “F” stands for the fan,
  • “Z” represents axial flow,
  • “Y” indicates a cylindrical type,
  • “4” refers to the motor performance serial number, which usually corresponds to the motor’s speed, often referring to a 4-pole motor.

Example 1: T35-11-NO2.8

This represents a No. 2.8 fan from the T35 series. Fans in this series adhere to the standard models specified by the Ministry of Machinery Industry.

  • “T” stands for a general-purpose fan.
  • “35” represents the hub ratio (ratio of root diameter to top diameter) of 0.35.
  • In “11”, the first “1” denotes a single-suction fan in a centrifugal fan, but has no meaning for an axial flow fan.
  • The second “1” signifies the first design iteration.
  • “NO2.8” indicates a fan with an impeller diameter of 0.28 meters.

Example 2: NO. 3.55

The model T35-11-3.55 represents a fan with an impeller diameter of 355mm (or 0.355 meters). It operates at a motor speed of 2900 RPM.

Example 3: YSF-5014 Axial Flow Fan

In this model:

  • “YSF” stands for a capacitor-start, run asynchronous motor.
  • “50” refers to the center height of the motor (in millimeters).
  • “14” indicates the outer diameter of the iron core (also in millimeters).

II. Classification of Axial Flow Fans

Axial flow fans come in a variety of models and can be classified in different ways, including:

  1. By Material
    • Steel axial fans, FRP (Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic) axial fans, plastic axial fans, PP (Polypropylene) axial fans, PVC axial fans, magnesium alloy axial fans, aluminum axial fans, stainless steel axial fans, etc.
  2. By Use
    • Explosion-proof axial fans, anti-corrosion axial fans, and more.
  3. By Usage Requirements
    • Duct axial fans, wall axial fans, post-mounted axial fans, stationary axial fans, rain-proof and dust-proof axial fans, mobile axial fans, motor external axial fans, etc.
  4. By Installation Method
    • Belt-drive axial fans and motor-direct coupled axial fans.
