Common Faults and Solutions of Centrifugal Fans
1. Vibration Caused by Unbalanced Rotors
Treatment Methods:
- Repair or replace the rotors.
- If the fan has not been used for an extended period after assembly, perform regular cranking to prevent shaft bending.
- Remove any attachments on the rotors.
- Repair the impeller and conduct a dynamic and static balance test.
- Ensure proper balance of the rotors.
2. Resonance Caused by Loose Fixing Parts
Treatment Methods:
- Strengthen the rigidity of the fixing parts.
- Add support and soft connections to reduce resonance.
- Increase the overall stiffness of the assembly.
3. Overheating of Bearings
Treatment Methods:
- Identify and address any areas where parts are rubbing.
- Adjust the concentricity of the two axes.
- Ensure that the grease in the bearing box is between 1/3 and 1/2 of its capacity.
- Adjust the bolts as necessary.
4. Bearing Wear
Treatment Methods:
- Overhaul the bearings to ensure the clearance is within the required range.
- Adjust the gap as needed.
- Replace the lubricating oil in the bearings.
5. Reduced Air Volume
Solutions:
- Check the power supply voltage.
- Unblock and clean the pipeline.
- Repair or replace any faulty seals.
6. Reduced Wind Pressure
Treatment Methods:
- Correct the system design to make it more efficient.
- Adjust the inlet blades.
- Replace any damaged impellers.
How to Disassemble the Centrifugal Fan
In addressing common faults of the centrifugal fan, disassembly is often required. Here’s how to properly disassemble the fan:
- Preparation:
- Gather all necessary dismantling tools and materials.
- If there are hazardous gases, tightly close the inlet valve and, if necessary, the stopper plate. Ensure no dangerous gas leaks by filling the drain to an adequate height.
- Oil Drainage:
- Drain and filter the oil.
- Separate the oil pipe from the valve body flange.
- Lifting the Upper Cover or Rotor:
- Keep the cover or rotor level during lifting to avoid damage to machine parts.
- Do not disassemble the axial connection of the fan. If cooling is required, cool the upper box first.
- Measuring Clearances:
- Measure the bearing and thrust surface clearances before removing the slide plate.
- Measure the seal gap before removing the seal.
- Checking Parts:
- Carefully examine the parts for any traces or marks. Print any necessary marks to facilitate reassembly.
- Mark parts that cannot be staggered or positioned, and those that affect balance, such as keys, caps, sleeves, support rings, couplers, and their pins, as well as the air intakes and blades.
- Cleaning:
- Clean all disassembled parts thoroughly to remove any dirt or debris from the surface.
