1. Troubleshooting of the ECG monitor

1. No display on startup

Fault symptom: when When the instrument is turned on, there is no display on the screen and the indicator light does not light; when an external power supply is used, the battery voltage is low, and the machine will automatically shut down;

Inspection method:

(1) Check whether the 12V voltage is low when the instrument is not connected to AC power. This fault alarm indicates that the output voltage detection part of the power supply board detects that the voltage is low, which may be caused by the failure of the power supply board detection part or the output failure of the power supply board, or it may be caused by the failure of the back-end load circuit.

(2) When there is a battery installed, this phenomenon means that the monitor is working on battery power supply and the battery power is basically used up, and the AC input does not work properly. The possible reasons are: the 220V power socket itself has no power, or the fuse is blown.

(3) When no external battery is connected, it may be judged that the rechargeable battery is broken, or the battery cannot be charged due to the failure of the power board/charging control board.

Exclusion method: Connect all the connection parts reliably, and connect the AC power to charge the instrument.

2, white screen, blurry screen

Fault phenomenon: there is a display when booting up, but a white screen and blurry screen appear.

Inspection method: white screen and blurry screen indicate that the display screen is powered by the inverter, but there is no display signal input from the main control board. An external monitor can be connected to the VGA output port on the back of the machine. If the output is normal, the screen may be damaged or the connection between the screen and the main control board may be poor; if there is no VGA output, the main control board may be faulty.

Remedy: replace the monitor, or check whether the main control board wiring is firm. When there is no VGA output, the main control board needs to be replaced.

3. No ECG waveform

Fault phenomenon: connect the lead wire but no ECG waveform, the display shows “electrode off” or “no ECG” signal reception”.

Checking method: First check the lead mode, if it is the five-lead mode but only the three-lead connection is used, there must be no waveform.

Secondly, on the premise of confirming the placement of the cardiac electrode pads and the quality of the cardiac electrode pads, exchange the ECG cable with other machines to confirm whether the ECG cable is faulty. Whether the cable is aging or the pin is broken.

Again, if the fault of the ECG cable is ruled out, the possible cause is that the “ECG signal line” on the parameter socket board is not in good contact, or the connection line of the ECG board, the main control board of the ECG board, the main control board Fault.

Exclusion method:

(1) Check all the external parts of ECG leads (three/five extension wires in contact with the human body to the corresponding three/five wires on the ECG plug) There should be continuity between the contact pins. If the resistance is infinite, it indicates that the lead wire is broken, and the lead wire should be replaced].

(2) If the waveform channel of the ECG display shows “no signal reception”, it means that there is a problem with the communication between the ECG measurement module and the host, and the prompt still exists after the machine is turned off and on, and you need to contact the supplier.

4. The ECG waveform is cluttered

Fault phenomenon: the ECG waveform is disturbed greatly, and the waveform is non-standard and non-standard.

Inspection methods:

(1) First, the interference from the signal input terminal should be excluded, such as patient movement, failure of cardiac electrode pads, aging of ECG leads, and poor contact.

(2) Set the filtering mode to “Monitoring” or “Surgery”, the effect will be better, because the filtering bandwidth is wider in these two modes.

(3) If the waveform effect is not good under the operation, please check the zero-ground voltage. Generally, it is required to be within 5V, and a separate ground wire can be pulled to achieve the purpose of good grounding.

(4) If the grounding is not good, it may be due to the interference from the inside of the machine, such as the poor shielding of the ECG board. At this point, you should try to replace the accessories.

Exclusion method: adjust the ECG amplitude to an appropriate value, and the entire waveform can be observed.

5. Respiratory signal is too weak

Fault phenomenon: The respiration waveform displayed on the screen is too weak, which is inconvenient to observe.

Inspection method: Check whether the ECG electrode pads are placed correctly, the quality of the electrode pads and whether the parts of the human body contacting the electrode pads are cleaned.

Exclusion method: Clean the parts of the human body that contact the electrode pads, and place the electrode pads of good quality correctly.

6. ECG is disturbed by the electrosurgical knife

Fault phenomenon: When the electrosurgical knife is used during the operation, the electrocardiogram appears when the electrosurgical negative plate contacts the human body interference.

Inspection method: Whether the monitor itself and the electrosurgical casing are well grounded.

Exclusion method: add good grounding to the monitor and electrosurgical unit.

7. ECG baseline drift

Fault phenomenon: ECG scan baseline cannot be stabilized on the display screen, and sometimes drifts out of the display area.

Inspection methods:

(1) Check whether the instrument is used in a humid environment and whether the inside of the instrument is damp;

(2) Check the quality of the electrode pads and the contact between the human body and the electrode Whether the part of the tablet is clean.

Remedy:

(1) Turn on the instrument continuously for 24 hours to drain moisture by itself.

(2) Replace the electrode pads with good ones, and clean the parts where the human body contacts the electrode pads.

8. Insufficient inflation of NIBP

Fault phenomenon: “The cuff is too loose” or the cuff is leaking when the blood pressure is measured, and the inflation pressure can’t be charged all the time. (below 150mmHg), cannot be measured.

Inspection method:

(1) There may be air leakage, such as cuff, airway and various joints, which can be judged by “air leakage detection”.

(2) The patient mode is incorrectly selected. If the adult cuff is used but the patient type monitored is a neonate, this alarm may occur.

Exclusion method: replace the blood pressure cuff with good quality or choose an appropriate type.

9. No value of SPO2

Fault phenomenon: During the monitoring process, there is no blood oxygen waveform and no blood oxygen value.

Inspection method:

(1) Change a blood oxygen probe. If it doesn’t work, the blood oxygen probe or the blood oxygen extension cable may be faulty.

(2) Check if the model is correct. Mindray’s blood oxygen probes are mostly MINDRAY and Masimo, which are incompatible with each other.

(3) Check whether the blood oxygen probe has red light flashing, if there is no flashing, the probe assembly is faulty.

(4) If the blood oxygen initialization error alarm occurs, the blood oxygen board is faulty.

Remedy: If there is no red light flashing in the finger probe, it may be that the wire interface is in poor contact. Check the extension cable and socket interface. In areas with cold temperatures, try not to expose the patient’s arm to avoid affecting the detection effect. Blood pressure measurement and blood oxygen measurement cannot be performed on the same arm, so as not to affect the measurement due to compression of the arm.

If the waveform channel of the blood oxygen display shows “no signal reception”, it means that there is a problem with the communication between the blood oxygen module and the host. Please turn off the power and then turn it on again. If this prompt still occurs, the blood oxygen board needs to be replaced.

10. The value of SPO2 is low and inaccurate

Fault phenomenon: When measuring human blood oxygen saturation, the blood oxygen value is low and inaccurate .

Inspection method:

(1) First of all, it is necessary to ask whether it is for a special case or a general one. If it is a special case, it can be avoided as much as possible from the precautions of blood oxygen measurement, such as patient movement, poor microcirculation, hypothermia, and excessive time.

(2) If it is common, please replace a blood oxygen probe, it may be caused by the failure of the blood oxygen probe.

(3) Check whether the blood oxygen extension cable is damaged.

Exclusion method: try to keep the patient stable, once the blood oxygen value is lost due to hand movements, it can be considered normal. If the blood oxygen extension cable is damaged, replace it.

11. Inaccurate NIBP measurement value

Fault phenomenon: The deviation of the measured blood pressure value is too large.

Inspection method: Check whether the blood pressure cuff is leaking, whether the pipeline interface connected to the blood pressure is leaking, or is it caused by the difference between the auscultation method and the subjective judgment?

Remedy: Use the NIBP calibration function. This is the only standard available to verify correct calibration of the NIBP module at the user’s site. The standard deviation of the pressure tested by NIBP when it leaves the factory is within 8mmHg. If it is exceeded, the blood pressure module needs to be replaced.

12. Module communication is abnormal

Fault phenomenon: each module reports “communication stop”, “communication error”, “initialization error”.

Inspection method: This phenomenon indicates that the communication between the parameter module and the main control board is abnormal. First, re-plug and unplug the connection line between the parameter module and the main control board. If it does not work, consider the parameter module, and then consider the failure of the main control board.

Remedy: Check whether the connection line between the parameter module and the main control board is firm, whether the parameter module is set correctly, or replace the main control board.

2. Daily maintenance and maintenance of the ECG monitor

1. The monitor should be placed in a ventilated and dry place.

2. Connect the purification power supply to maintain the voltage (220±22)V, reduce the Use with high-power appliances.

3. Turn off the monitor before cleaning and sterilization. , while disconnecting from the AC power source.

4. When arranging accessories, do not fold the lines, but wrap them in a circle to avoid breaking .

5. Do not subject the ECG monitor and accessories to high temperature, high pressure and Soak disinfection, avoid contact with corrosive gases and liquids such as acid and alkali. Never immerse any part of the system in liquid. If liquid is accidentally spilled on the monitor, it should be wiped with a dry cloth immediately. Do not let liquid flow into the monitor. 6. Avoid frequent switching of the instrument, when the patient only suspends the instrument for a long time , remove the monitoring electrode buckle, do not need to shut down. If you see signs of deterioration or damage to the cable, replace the cable and do not use it for patient monitoring.

7. Be careful not to fold the hose connecting the cuff, it will be easily damaged if folded for a long time .

8. When the printed ECG band is too light or inconsistent in shade, use the Use a cotton ball of alcohol to clean the surface of the print head to remove any remaining paper dust.

9. The staff wash their hands and trim their nails before operation, so as not to damage the touch keys or fluorescent screen.

The monitor in the standby state should be placed in a ventilated and dry place to avoid moisture, and should be charged regularly, usually once a week, and checked, cleaned and maintained; it should be kept by a special person.
