[Electric fan repair] Reasons and repair methods for household floor fans not rotating

What should I do if the fan doesn’t turn? Especially in summer, there is no fan, it’s really terrible, don’t worry, let’s take a look at the reasons why the electric fan does not turn and the simple repair, maybe it’s just a small problem, you can repair it yourself? Let me learn together with me.

It is normal for the fan to be damaged or malfunctioned during use. When its blades cannot turn, how should we repair it? Here are several methods.

1. In many cases, the reason why the fan blades do not turn is due to poor maintenance. If the fan blade is turned by hand after turning off the power, it should be dripped with some lubricating oil into the rotating shaft, so that it can be lubricated, so that it will not affect the motive to drag the fan blade. Use a screwdriver to disassemble the motor, get some grease (butter) as much as possible, and apply some (not too much) lubrication to the shaft and the bushing. There are two front and back covers. After this step, close the front and back covers (don’t rush to install the bolts). Move the shaft by hand to see if it is more flexible than before. If the answer is yes, you can install the motor bolts. After installation, the boot should be normal. Turn it up, then you have to slowly inject butter from the shaft gap, and judge whether it is suitable by auditory vision.

2. For the fan blade not rotating due to wear, the easiest way is to replace the parts, especially the shaft sleeve, which is easy to burn after wear.

3. If the capacitance of the capacitor becomes smaller and the fan does not rotate, you can remove the capacitor and replace it with a new capacitor of the same type. It is recommended to choose a capacitor 20% larger than the original one, which will have better rotation Effect.

4. If the axial clearance of the shaft is too large, you can choose to adjust the gasket after removing the motor. But remember to install the motor back, pay attention to the rotor must be concentric with the bearing, slowly tighten the screw diagonally with lubrication, and finally tap the shaft with a wooden handle to make sure it is concentric. It is easy to disassemble the motor, but it is more difficult to put it back on. Don’t do it casually, otherwise it will be easy to repair the fan. If the bearing bush is found to be severely worn when the motor is removed, it should be replaced with a new part.

5. If it is because of electrical failure, you can check all the wiring lines, sometimes the wires are damaged, etc., you can repair the problem. If the power supply is in poor contact, try changing several power supplies. If the internal circuit of the fan is in poor contact, you need to be dismantled and inspected by an expert.

Generally speaking, the motor does not rotate the electric fan. Although the fan is small, it cannot be ignored. When we use electric fans, we should pay more attention to maintenance to prevent too fast aging, and there will be no problem of fan blades not turning. When we went through the overhaul, we found that the fan was running even better than before.
