The most widely used power source for electric motorcycles is lead-acid batteries, but with the development of electric vehicle technology, lead-acid batteries are gradually replaced by other batteries due to their low energy, slow charging speed, and short lifespan. The application of new power sources is being developed, opening up broad prospects for the development of electric vehicles.
It is the new direction of current development to transform the traditional process of lead-acid battery and establish a new process of green environmental protection and energy saving. Due to cutting down the traditional chemical forming process and eliminating the main pollution, the product is environmentally friendly; high quality, long service life, large capacity; good low temperature start-up performance, especially suitable for use in northern cold regions. As a power battery, it can be discharged at a high rate; the self-discharge is small, which is suitable for long-term storage; compared with other imported batteries, it has obvious cost-effective advantages.
How to maintain electric motorcycle batteries
1. Use the charger correctly
a), determine the AC power supply and charger input whether the voltage matches.
b), determine whether the output voltage of the charger matches the rated voltage of the battery.
c), first insert the plug connected to the charger and the battery box, and then insert the AC power plug.
d) When the charger is used indoors, attention should be paid to moisture-proof and vibration-proof. It is strictly forbidden to cover it when charging, and it should be placed in a place with ventilation and heat dissipation.
2. The battery cannot be charged at any time
a) The lead-acid battery is not a lithium battery and cannot be recharged at any time. The most afraid of losing power, often keeping enough power can prolong the battery life.
b) When charging, the indicator light of the charger is a red light first and then a green light. After the light turns green, the floating charge should be guaranteed for 2 hours, which is good for suppressing the vulcanization of the battery.
3. Prevent the battery from overcharging
a), the overcharge of the electric motorcycle battery produces a large amount of gas to wash the pole plate, which accelerates the falling off of the active material on the pole plate and shortens the battery life.
b) The overcharge of the electric motorcycle battery will accelerate the water loss, which will cause the electrolyte to dry up and the battery temperature to rise, resulting in thermal runaway, expansion of the pole plate, and deformation of the shell.
4. Prevent the battery from over-discharging
Pay attention to skills when using the battery car, which can also prolong the battery life. Long-term deep discharge will cause the battery plate to soften and shorten the service life.
a) To prevent high current discharge, try to use your feet to assist when starting, going uphill and driving against the wind.
b), to prevent long-term discharge, do not often run out of electricity. To charge when the battery is reduced by 1/2.
5. Prevent the battery from losing power
For the battery that has been put aside for a long time, it should be fully charged once a month. Generally, it is better to continue to float for 5 hours after the red light of the charger turns to green. .
Electric motorcycle battery disassembly and repair
1. Open the battery cover and remove 6 safety caps.
2. Fill each hole with distilled water with a syringe
If 1.28 standard electrolyte is added, the electrode plate may burn out due to the high acid solubility. For example, when we eat hot pot, why do we eat more and more salty, that is to say, when the water evaporates, the salt will not evaporate through the water vapor, the same reason, the acid in the battery will not be evaporated, missing It is water, so we only need to add about 20-30ml of distilled water to each small hole.
3. After filling up, let the battery stand still for half an hour, so that the sponge around the plate can fully absorb the water.
Then use the resistor to discharge, and discharge all the electricity in the battery. If there is no resistance, you can use a 12v light bulb instead, such as: motorcycle headlights, car turn signals can be, as long as they can Play the role of discharging to 0v. How to judge that the battery is about to run out of electricity, the resistance body of the cement resistor is hot at the beginning of discharge, and gradually becomes less hot, and then the battery runs out of electricity. If the light bulb is used, it should be direct. As long as the light does not light up slowly, it means that the discharge of the battery is over. The discharge time depends on the capacity of the battery when it is discharged. We can first ride the electric motorcycle battery until it runs out of electricity. Re-maintenance, which can shorten the discharge time.
4. Charge the battery after the discharge. If possible, use the pulse charging method.
Because the pulse charging method can effectively remove the vulcanization of the electrode plate and improve the capacity of the battery. If you don’t have it, you can also use a car charger instead.
5. After charging, use a syringe to draw out the excess water from each hole. A total of 6 holes, completed step by step.
