I. How many leads of an ECG monitor are more accurate
Which is more accurate for the 5-lead or 3-lead ECG monitor? This does not seem to be comparable. It mainly depends on what department is used and under what circumstances. The doctor will adjust the display according to different situations. Usually, a good ECG monitor can be adjusted to 3 leads, 5 leads, 7 leads, and more. The reference lead is different according to the actual application of the doctor. If it is used for neonatal monitoring, three leads are more accurate than five leads.
Second, How to choose ECG leads
ECG monitors usually have three leads and five leads lead.
1. The location of the three leads of ECG monitoring:
Right upper (RA), the first intercostal space in the midclavicular line on the right sternal border.
Left upper (LA), the first intercostal space at the midclavicular line on the left sternum border.
Lower left (LL), at the level of the xiphoid process on the left midclavicular line.
2. Position of five leads of ECG monitoring:
Right upper (RA) white line: the first intercostal space on the midclavicular line on the right sternum.
Lower right (RL) green line: at the level of the xiphoid process on the right midclavicular line.
Middle (C) brown line: the fourth intercostal space on the left side of the sternum.
Left upper (LA) black line: the first intercostal space on the midclavicular line at the left sternum border.
Lower left (LL) red line: at the level of the xiphoid process on the left midclavicular line.
