How to use the recorder correctly

How to use and maintain the recorder

1. New uses of wireless microphones

Commercially available wireless FM microphones are mostly only used for amplification through radios with FM bands. In fact, wireless microphones can also be used for singing and recording. To prevent howling, be sure to disconnect the built-in speakers, plug in headphones, and monitor at the same time. The singer faces the wireless microphone, and the instruments are far and near in an orderly manner, so that the sound quality of the recorded cassette is better than that of the in-camera microphone, which is clear and layered.

2. Audio recorder as a memory “enhancer”

In addition to recording and playback, the recorder can also be used as a simple memory enhancer for learning foreign languages or reciting texts. Almost all models of tape recorders can be equipped with a pair of headphones. Put the recorder in the “recording” state, plug in the headphones to monitor, then speak to the microphone inside the machine, and you can clearly hear your own voice in the headphones to achieve the purpose of enhancing memory. Since the motor of the recorder is also rotating after pressing the record button, it will consume power and increase wear and noise. Use a 2.5mm diameter two-pin plug (do not wire) into the recorder’s microphone recording remote jack to disconnect the motor power. Or before pressing the record button, put your hand into the tape compartment, gently press the anti-miswipe probe, and then press the record button to work, so that the recording head will not be worn. The recording button should be restored in time after use.

3. The improvement of the tape wheel

Some recording tapes are of poor quality. After a period of use, the tape transport part in the tape cassette increases the tape transport resistance due to friction and hair, or the tape is somewhat sticky due to moisture. The speed becomes slower, which affects the playback quality. The method of improvement is very simple. Open the cassette, and you can see two fixed pulleys and two plastic columns on the outside of the tape at the turning point of the tape. Find a piece of used thick ballpoint pen refill, cut two small tubes that are the same height as the plastic column, and put it on the plastic column of the tape box, so that two fixed pulleys are added, which can greatly reduce the resistance of the tape. After the modification, the playback effect was significantly improved.

4. Prevent tape stress

Some music tapes that are very pleasant to listen to, but after a period of time play, there is a mixed sound stress phenomenon. There are two reasons for the sound of the tape: one is that after long-term storage, the magnetic bits between the tapes induce each other; the other is that the magnetic head and the rubber roller have not been cleaned with detergent for a long time, and the worn magnetic powder adheres to the tape. Therefore, in addition to scrubbing the magnetic head frequently, you should also pay attention to the “four nos” and “two shoulds” when storing the tape: do not place it vertically, so as not to squeeze the bottom of the tape too tightly; do not get close to heat sources such as stoves, large light bulbs, and radiators; Do not get close to volatile liquids such as alcohol and gasoline; do not get close to magnetic objects such as running motors, radios, speakers, etc. Usually, the tape should be placed horizontally in a cool, dry place; every once in a while, the tape should be fast-forwarded or rewound.

5. Wrinkled Tape Recovery

When the tape recorder is entrained, the tape can become folded, wrinkled, or even tangled. At this time, you can put a cup of boiling water on top of the broken tape, and move the water cup back and forth. After several times, the tape will become soft, and the folds and wrinkles will become smooth and flat, and the effect will be as good as before.

6. Eraser to remove smudges on the magnetic head

The dirt on the magnetic head of the tape recorder will make the sound quality muddy, the volume is too low, and it cannot be recorded seriously. After cleaning the magnetic head with head cleaner, alcohol or cleaning tape, rust-like magnetic powder is often left on the mirror surface of the magnetic head, which is not easy to remove. At this time, it can be wiped with a word eraser, and then wiped again with a cleaning agent, and the sound quality of recording and playback will be significantly improved.

7. The application of washing machine timer on the recorder

If the timer of the washing machine is connected to the plug of the recorder (without a timer device), the recorder can automatically power off at regular intervals.

8. Repair of speakers

In home audio equipment, the chassis of large and small speakers is broken, which will cause the sound quality to be distorted and hoarse. In this regard, you can find a very thin piece of white paper (cut to a size slightly larger than the hole), stick it on the hole of the speaker with glue, then drop a few drops of candle oil around the white paper, and use an electric soldering iron to smooth the wax. , you can continue to use it after drying.

9. Elimination of radio noise

Sometimes there is a “click, click” sound in the radio when the radio switch is turned on and the volume is adjusted. At this time, the potentiometer can be removed first, and a soft lead pencil (type B is suitable) can be used to evenly smear the wear marks on the ring resistance diaphragm, and then add a drop of sewing machine oil or other lubricating oil, and rotate a few The lower knob can be installed.

10. Self-made adhesive for repairing electrical enclosures

Dissolve broken tap water pen holders in chloroform to make various plastic adhesives for bonding damaged radio casings, TV casings and other The plastic shell of household appliances can be glued and repaired, and the effect is very ideal.

Daily maintenance of the recorder

1. When the recorder is not used for a long time, the battery should be removed to prevent the battery liquid from flowing out and corroding the parts. The power plug should be unplugged.

2. When the recorder is not in use, all buttons should be placed in the “stop” position.

3. Do not act too violently when operating a function key. And press the program operation function key. For example, after recording, you should press the stop button first, and then press the rewind button.

4. Depending on the tape material, use the tape selector switch. For example: Metal belts can no longer be used in normal belt positions.

5. After the tape is loaded into the tape recorder, it is best to press the fast forward or rewind button to run it first before recording or playing.

6. Do not use the recorder to vibrate violently, and do not place it next to objects with strong magnetic fields such as TV sets, so as to avoid magnetization of the magnetic heads and tapes.

7. Generally, the recorder should not work for too long. If it works continuously for several hours, the life of the movement inside the machine will be shortened.

8. The tape recorder has been used for about half a year. It is best to clean the magnetic head, spindle, pinch roller and other parts once. Some clock oil can be added to the mechanical transmission part.

9. The volume of the recorder should not be turned on too high. Excessive sound is not only distorted, but also the components are easily damaged.

10. When the speed is slow for a period of time, the standard speed belt can be used to play sound, and the potentiometer of the steady speed circuit can be adjusted to the standard speed.

11. Adjust the head azimuth after using for a period of time.

12. After the machine rolls the strip, it should not be pulled hard, and should be carefully taken out according to the reverse direction of the pinch pulley.

13. For dual-card playback, try to use the B compartment (playing compartment)

14. When the recorder is not used for a long time, cover the recorder with cloth or plastic, so that the The fuselage and tape running system are not contaminated with dust, so as not to affect the use.
