The air conditioner’s external unit is two capacitors and two motors, compressor and outdoor fan. There are three connectors coming out of the motor. These three connectors are the common winding, the main winding and the auxiliary winding. The 220V mains is connected to the main winding of the common winding, and a capacitor is connected between the main and auxiliary windings. How to distinguish these three windings. Use a multimeter to hit the ohm range to measure it out. The largest resistance value is between the main winding and the auxiliary winding, so it can be judged that the other head is the common terminal; after the common terminal is determined, it is easy to judge the main winding and the auxiliary winding, and the resistance value of the common terminal is smaller than that of the common terminal. The main winding and the common terminal resistance are the secondary windings.

Judgment method for compressor capacitor damage: After starting the air conditioner, the indoor function can operate normally and supply air. After a brief humming sound from the outdoor unit, the compressor stops and cannot cool. When this phenomenon occurs, it can basically be judged that the compressor starting capacitor is damaged and needs to be replaced.
1. Unplug the air conditioner and turn off the power completely. Then open the top cover of the outdoor unit, unscrew the screws of the top cover of the outdoor unit, and then remove the top cover.
2. The silver cylindrical object is the compressor capacitor. Take a picture and record where each wire is connected.
3. Use a screwdriver to unscrew the screw on the capacitor fixing ring, unplug the wiring, and remove the capacitor.
