An air switch, or air circuit breaker, is a type of circuit breaker designed to automatically open when the current in the circuit exceeds the rated current. This is a crucial component in low-voltage power distribution networks and power drag systems, offering control and various protection functions. In addition to making and breaking the circuit, it protects against short circuits, severe overloads, and undervoltage conditions in circuits or electrical equipment. It can also be used to start motors infrequently.
Differences Between a Circuit Breaker and an Air Switch
