Part 1, Clothes:
The requirements for clothing in outdoor activities such as walking, resting, and camping are far different from those in cities. It’s not that you can’t wear clothes in the city, but it is recommended to wear clothes that are more suitable for outdoor activities.
1. It’s hot in summer. You can wear ordinary short-sleeved shirts and shorts, but cotton. However, it is easy to get wet after sweating, not easy to dry, and prone to skin allergies. Quick-drying clothes are recommended. Even if they are soaked in heavy rain, they can be dried quickly or even steamed at body temperature.
2. It is best to have sweat-wicking underwear, fleece and jackets in spring and autumn. Because the weather is cold, you will sweat after exercising, and the cold wind will blow through all your clothes in a blink of an eye. Sweaty underwear and windproof outerwear can make you feel like you have a fever of 40 degrees, and it is indeed easy to cause diseases such as colds. Sweat-wicking underwear is more expensive; fleece is cheap, long-sleeved clothes are recommended to use zippers, and it is inconvenient to put on and take off the pullover.
3. In the mountains and fields, people often walk through dense forests, and the branches and thorns of plants will cause great obstacles and damage. Ordinary cotton clothing can easily be penetrated by spikes, or they can hang on clothes, especially fleece. At this time, the jackets with good scratch resistance show their advantages. Of course, there are other alternatives, such as trench coats, that are not bad. For trousers, two pairs of trousers are recommended, that is, the trouser legs can be separated by zippers. Put it on when the branches are dense, so as not to scratch the legs and feet; it can be removed at ordinary times to keep cool. The advantage is that both men and women can disassemble and assemble directly, and there is no need to find a place to avoid people. And it’s cheap, and it doesn’t hurt to scratch it. Of course, two pairs of trousers are relatively thin and do not block the wind, so they cannot be used alone when the weather is cold.
4. Rainproof ability is another important quality. It is difficult for ordinary clothes to meet the requirements, although raincoats can be bought everywhere. When it rains, the air pressure is low and people will feel stuffy. If the raincoat has poor breathability, it will be particularly uncomfortable; if the raincoat is heavier, it will be even more painful. Therefore, although disposable raincoats and ordinary warm clothes can survive, it will greatly affect your performance. If you have good physical strength and the road is not difficult, you can do it like this. If the physical strength is not good or the road is difficult, it is better not to do so. Consider buying G-TEX jackets when funds allow!
5. Professional hiking shoes should be worn as shoes as possible. When tracing the river, the blood tracing shoes should be used, and rock climbing shoes should be absolutely used for rock climbing. However, in general outdoor sports, if the team leader does not have special requirements, high-tie, thick pattern, and thick-soled shoes can also be dealt with, especially professional basketball shoes are quite good, because the anti-skid performance and wear resistance are good, and often The bottom is thick and tied high.
6. Socks should be wear-resistant as much as possible, and don’t think about stockings at all. The kind of cotton and chemical fiber blends are good, and pure cotton can also be used. The socks should be a block higher than your hiking boots, but don’t have to be too long.
6. Having said so much above, it seems that it is impossible to cope without a jacket. In fact, the poor also have their own way: to carry it hard! Wear an ordinary windbreaker and ordinary two-length trousers outside, but bring an extra set of underwear in your backpack. Wear a disposable raincoat when it rains and try to maintain your body temperature. Changing into dry clothes as soon as the rain stops works great. Of course, the premise is that you must have good physical strength and physique, and this local method cannot cope with too bad situations.
7. In addition, it is emphasized again that denim is not recommended. It is heavy, friction is severe, and the weight increases exponentially after being wet, and it is difficult to dry.
8. It is recommended to use a backpack rain cover, which can prevent the contents of the bag from being wet by the rain. Moreover, clothes and sleeping bags
must be wrapped in plastic bags, which should become a habit.
Part II: Diet
People are iron and rice is steel. Sufficient energy can be replenished in time to have sufficient physical strength. Most of the activities start on Saturday morning, arrive at the place where the crossing begins near noon, and complete the crossing and return by car on Sunday afternoon. That is to say, there are four meals we need to eat out most of the time, plus one meal at departure, there are five meals in total:
1. Saturday breakfast: eat at home before getting on the bus Yes, but I am afraid that most of the cats are lazy, and it is difficult to do snooze. A good idea, then, is to prepare some easy-to-carry food to eat in the car. My own solution usually goes something like this: a bag of milk or yogurt, and a loaf of bread, in a plastic bag and hanging out of the backpack. Just take it off when you get in the car, and eat it after driving, hehe.
2. Saturday lunch: I should have walked for a while now, should I enter the state? I am afraid there is not much time to waste while traveling, so lunch is a good opportunity to rest. The novice with poor physical strength may not have adapted yet, and will show no appetite, or simply too tired to eat, hehe. At this time, you should force yourself. The captain ordered to rest and eat, and start eating immediately. No matter whether you have an appetite or not, you should complete it as a task. Foods should be bland, digestible, high in calories, and easy to carry, such as bread, milk, eggs, meat. The “hillie” braised eggs are good, as are the hams and sausages I like. In addition, pay attention to add some salt and eat some pickles. Mustard chips are a good choice, or you can prepare a small bottle of water with some salt in it. Those who eat slowly, such as myself, should not delay, the captain said “eat”, you start to eat. Eat as much as you can, even an extra bite of mustard will give you more strength in the afternoon. Don’t walk on an empty stomach, that’s a big no-no. If you can’t eat the staple food, you can eat fruits and cucumbers. These two things are very popular wild foods.
3. Saturday dinner: It should be at the campsite, start the feast, cool! The main food should be noodles, Longxu noodles, instant noodles and so on. There is a small pot on the small stove, and the fragrant noodles are cooked in the small pot. That is so tempting! This meal is even more important for recovery. This meal, if prepared properly, can make you feel no worse than eating in a restaurant. I would like to recommend one thing in particular: effervescent tablets! This thing is small, bigger than a fingernail, and it will dissolve immediately when thrown into water, releasing a lot of air bubbles, and the water will turn into soda. This is a vitamin supplement, so that the lactic acid in your muscles can be cleared and decomposed as soon as possible, so as to avoid backache and leg pain after getting up the next day. Imported effervescent is expensive, and domestically produced is very cheap. I bought domestic products, about 8 cents per piece. As long as you can have fun, it’s still a good deal for a few cents, isn’t it? Many supermarkets have them, and you can find them if you pay attention. In addition, the more popular foods are delicious vegetables, kimchi, cold dishes, cold spicy meat, cucumbers, hot sauce and so on.
4. Sunday breakfast: Most of the time it’s still at camp, so it’s still possible to make a fire. Instant noodles, instant porridge, milk, coffee, plus bread, ham, etc., are they different from the meal last night? However, thinking about the heavy bag that is about to be carried on the back, take another bite!
5. Sunday lunch: If nothing goes wrong, the crossing may have been completed by now, or not far from the goal. No need to begrudge, no need to keep, eat what is delicious! If you bring back the food you eat, you will be really depressed! However, if you still have a lot of road left, then you should keep a little bit, just in case. Under normal circumstances, I will find a small shop to corrupt it. In fact, it is a very cool thing for everyone to FB together.
6. Snacks on the way: Young people still like to eat snacks, and this is not a bad thing during the activity. At least I usually start getting hungry two hours after a big meal. It is still necessary to add something from time to time. Biscuits, candies, and chocolates in small packages can add calories, while fruits, cucumbers, and tomatoes can add a lot of water and make you hungry. These items should be kept within easy reach, as there will be no time for you to tumble them out from the bottom of the pack. Also, raw food should be washed beforehand and packed in clean bags.
7. Drinking water: Emphasize the correct way of drinking water. It should be a small sip each time, which is about as much as a cap of a Coke bottle. Moisten your mouth and the base of your tongue first, then slowly swallow a third of it, keeping the rest in your mouth. After tasting it, swallow the second third, then the remaining third. This method should become a habit to save water in the best way. Your mouth and throat are the easiest way to relieve thirst, and your body won’t sweat profusely right away, reducing waste. How precious water is on long walks, you’ll know when you’re thirsty and want to set yourself on fire. Remember this method, and you’ll thank someone who came up with it and saved your life.
The above may be a bit complicated. In fact, everyone can bring enough for their own food, and corrupt materials must be within their capabilities. If you are not a good person yourself, don’t force anything. To be a native, like me, is actually very happy. Being a native is very simple: I use a few large Coke bottles every time, boil water on Friday night, let it cool and pour it in. Keep a small bottle or two outside to drink anytime. What I eat is two large breads, a large sausage, mustard, two packs of instant noodles, and a piece of effervescence. OK, do you need anything else? do you need?
Part Three: Marching
This is the most important part of the event. He kept walking and walking, rising and falling, falling and rising. If you only know how to go wild, you will be exhausted, and you will not be able to see any scenery, which means you have come out for nothing.
The most important thing in walking is to maintain your own rhythm, at your most comfortable pace and frequency, and at a certain speed. You don’t have to be in a hurry to catch up with the person in front of you, and you don’t have to leave others far behind. The important thing is that you maintain a certain speed and keep walking like this for a long time.
The physical state of the people during the activity can be roughly divided into the following stages:
1. The initial stage: usually just start loading the bag after a long rest. At this time, I was very excited, fast, and in a good state of mind. A smart leader should try to schedule the toughest sections (such as steep ascents) at this stage.
2. Pseudo-fatigue period: about half an hour to an hour after the initial stage (related to personal physical strength and road difficulty, this is an approximate value), you will feel tired for the first time. The place where the feeling is strong, mainly in the calf, is characteristic of this stage. At this point, you should keep going, don’t stop. Even if the speed is a little slower, as long as you stick to it, you can get through this difficult period in about 10 minutes.
3. Period of good condition: Once the pseudo-fatigue is over, the body will get used to the intensity and relax. This is the best time to travel, and most of the road should be completed in this state. If your physical strength is not very bad, this stage should last quite a long time (about 2-3 hours myself). Appropriate short breaks along the way can prolong this phase and achieve better results. The so-called short rest refers to the rest of about 2 or 3 minutes without taking a bag or sitting. Just stand firm and drink a sip of water, look at the surrounding scenery, take a photo and keep walking.
4. Complete consumption of points: Iron-struck people also have times when they are tired. After the end of the last stage, I should have a good idea: “I’m almost there, this is the level”! If you feel tired at this time, you should be sore all over your body, especially your legs and shoulders. If you sit down, you will feel pain in your lower back and don’t want to stand up. Sometimes, I feel very sleepy, and I can’t cheer up with such a beautiful scene in front of me. At this time, you should take a good rest, take a longer time, unpack, sit down, eat something, and drink more water. If it can be slowed down, that’s fine. It is best to complete the task of the day before reaching this critical point, otherwise it will be very hard, because you will soon enter????????
5. Physical overdraft period: As the name suggests, you are already dead, and now Supported by tenacious mental strength, he gritted his teeth. The main leg muscles are numb, moving mechanically, gasping with open mouth but not wanting to say a word. Many people actually rely on this state to complete most of their journeys. I really admire their perseverance. But I strongly do not recommend this method, it is too masochistic and unsafe. In this state, people’s ability to control body movements is very poor, their movements are very uncoordinated, and they even step on their own feet! If the road is more dangerous, your life is more dangerous. When you have to, don’t overdraw your physical strength easily. It’s much better to rest early. Once you start to overdraft, you need a long rest to relieve fatigue, and the progress is definitely not worth the loss. Moreover, the limit of physical exhaustion is very unstable, and it may fall down at any time, and then it will no longer be able to walk. It will take at least a few days to recover.
6. The above state is a cycle from 1 to 4. After a good rest at 4, you can return to 1. If you get to 5, you break the cycle. Restoring from an overdrafted state to an initial state is almost impossible to accomplish in a short period of time, at least for me personally. So, once again, don’t let yourself overdraft easily!
About the rest on the way, the more recommended now is this: When you obviously feel that your legs are already a little tired and sore, but you can still keep walking if you don’t stop, it is the best time to rest. At this time, your speed is in the best state, and your physical strength is also exerted. Taking a break can quickly relieve fatigue. If the rest is too early, entering the state will be delayed; if the rest is too late, the physical strength will be overdrawn prematurely, and it will be quite difficult to relieve fatigue. Adjust your mentality, don’t envy the person in front, he may not last longer than you, and may be surpassed by you in a while; you don’t need to comfort yourself with the person behind, maybe they are deliberately falling behind to accompany you. Stick to your own pace and you’re the winner.
There is always a team in the event, and the team leader has to worry about the formation, as for himself, as long as he cares about his position. Generally speaking, people with poor physical strength should try to stay at the front of the team, and the team leader should also try to arrange adjustments in this way. The one who leads the way should be the one who leads the way, and we stupid birds should follow them closely. That way, it will be easier on the mind. On the contrary, if you fall behind, objectively speaking, you will have to chase after others, and there will be pressure. In fact, everyone has to walk the same distance anyway, so why not walk a little ahead? With this in mind, try to rush forward as much as possible.
It’s not difficult at all to walk ahead, just remember that “stupid bird flies first” is enough: as soon as the captain shouts “Go”, you have already scurried out before others have packed your bags; On the trail, you follow the person who leads the way, and others have to follow you; when you are resting, you take a few more steps and stand in the front position when you set off later. Hurry up, open your mouth wide to eat and drink vigorously, try to supplement your consumption; if you have enough time to eat and drink, clean up if you still have time, such as pouring some water to fill the small bottle outside, so as not to waste time doing these small things on the road; If you still have time, massage your legs for a better recovery. It’s almost time to do these estimates, and it’s time for the captain to shout “Go”. what are you doing? He also asked, where do you go out with your bag on your back?
Be realistic, even if you really can’t do it, or if you know you’re definitely going to die before you leave (then what are you doing out there?), you can’t say that you have to dig a hole and bury yourself on the spot. . At this time, you should say hello to the captain and ask someone to help you relieve the burden. This is not a shameful thing, and you are responsible for everyone. After all, this can ensure the speed of the whole team. I believe that every team leader and every team member in charge will not reject you. There are usually people in the team who are in charge of finishing, stay with them, and don’t take orders. Don’t say anything “You go first, I’ll chase after you in a while! ” such words. When you can’t see the team, just a small difficulty that usually seems to make you cry! When you are really behind, if there is someone who is with you, be sure to win over him (you don??t have to sacrifice your hue, you can use other means), and at the same time, let the team leader know that you are in difficulty, so that you will get active help.
In this part, not only the rookies should pay more attention, but also the team leader. The overall control of the itinerary is still in the hands of the team leader. Paying more attention to the status of the rookies in the team is something that each of our team leaders should grasp.
Maybe, next time the team leader will be you 😉
