Daily maintenance of the disc
1. The disc should be placed as far as possible to avoid dust and magnetic fields. It is advisable to pinch the edge and center of the disc by hand when taking it.
2. Due to the influence of weather and temperature, the surface of the disc may sometimes condense with water vapor. Before use, take a clean and soft cotton cloth to gently wipe the surface of the disc.
3. If you find any stains on the surface of the disc, you can use a clean cotton cloth dipped in special cleaner to gently rub from the center of the disc to the outer edge. Do not use solvents containing chemical ingredients such as gasoline and alcohol, so as not to corrode the interior of the disc accuracy.
4. When the disc is idle, it is strictly forbidden to touch the disc with sharp objects to avoid scratches. If the disc is scratched, it will cause the laser beam and the disc information output to be inconsistent and the information will be lost.
5. Due to the thin thickness and low strength of the disc during storage, it is advisable to stack it within 10 sheets, otherwise the disc will easily deform and affect the playback quality.
6. If the disc is deformed, you can put it in a paper bag, sandwich the glass plate up and down, and press a weight of 5 kg on the glass plate, and the flatness of the disc can be restored after 36 hours.
7. For important discs that need to be stored for a long time, it is particularly important to choose a suitable temperature. If the temperature is too high or too low, it will directly affect the life of the disc. The best temperature for storing the disc is about 20 degrees Celsius.
8. Do not use non-genuine discs, because the quality of non-genuine discs is not guaranteed, and it is difficult to read the disc, which will cause the disc drive to read repeatedly in one place when it is working. Working under these conditions will damage the optical drive.
9. It is strictly forbidden to hold the CD-ROM with dirty and oily hands because the dirt is easily attached to the CD-ROM, thus affecting the reading of data; in addition, when putting the CD-ROM into the CD-ROM— Must be handled with ease.
10. Don’t put the CD on the paper that looks smooth in the book, it will actually cause slight scratches to the CD. It is best to store the CD in the CD case after use. The optical disc does not move in this case, and there is a certain gap between the disc body and the case body, so even if it moves, the disc surface will not be scratched.
11. Do not put unclean CDs in the CD-ROM, because the dust on the disk will affect the normal reading of the CD-ROM, and the dust will also affect the life of the CD-ROM.
12. Do not stick labels on the disc. Foreign objects on the surface of the disc will cause the disc to lose its balance when it rotates at high speed. In addition, the sticky limbs may penetrate the protective film and damage the disc drive.
13. Don’t forcefully press the Eject button when the CD-ROM is working, to make it pop out of the CD-ROM when the CD-ROM is rotating at a high speed, which will cause damage to the CD-ROM.
14. Do not expose to the sun, otherwise, the disc will be deformed, and in severe cases, the reflective layer of the disc in which the data is stored will be damaged, resulting in data loss.
15. The CD-ROM should be stored in a ventilated and dry place. When the CD-ROM is damaged or the surface is deformed, do not put it in the CD-ROM drive.
