If we only consider the economics of the refrigeration cycle of industrial chillers, the liquid subcooling method is generally used. However, this also has a bad side, that is, it will increase the investment and operating costs of related equipment, so it should be considered in combination with actual conditions before actual implementation.
In order to balance the benefits of these two aspects, it can be realized from the setting of the liquid subcooling temperature. For the refrigeration system of the industrial chiller, the subcooling of the liquid before throttling is realized in the heat exchanger. Therefore, a subcooling temperature of five degrees Celsius is generally sufficient, which is only for single-stage compression systems.
If it is a two-stage compression system, the liquid needs to be supercooled twice before throttling, one is supercooled in the intercooling, and the other is supercooled in the heat exchanger. Then the temperature of the former must be higher than the original one, while the supercooling temperature of the latter is basically nothing special, and it is the same as the supercooling temperature in the single-stage system.
