Some knowledge on the use and maintenance of hearing aids
With the improvement of people’s living standards, “hearing clearly and hearing comfortably” has become the goal that everyone pursues, so more and more More and more people know and wear hearing aids. In actual matching, we often hear questions such as “the hearing aids can be used for several years” and “will the hearing aids be damaged frequently”, which shows that everyone is not very familiar with the use and maintenance of hearing aids.
As we all know, hearing aids are very sophisticated electronic products, their internal components are small and compact, and they often accompany you to participate in various social activities, the working environment is relatively complex, so compared with other home appliances more prone to failure. In order to prolong the service life of hearing aids and reduce the failure rate of hearing aids, it is necessary to work hard on the use and maintenance of hearing aids to provide a good working environment for hearing aids.
The following are the types of hearing aids, namely box type, behind-the-ear type, and in-the-ear type (including in-ear type, ear canal type, and deep-ear canal type).
(1) The box-type hearing aid is to connect the hearing aid and the earphone (receiver) with a wire. When using it, don’t put it on your clothes, and put the earphone with the earplug in your ear. This kind of hearing aid is relatively simple and reliable. When using it, pay attention to:
①Do not break the wire or break the earphone.
②Do not use too much force when adjusting the switch and volume potentiometer, and do not stab the microphone with a sharp and hard screwdriver.
③ Regularly clean the surface of the hearing aid and the earwax in the earplugs.
(2) Behind-the-ear hearing aids are worn behind the ears and transmit sound to the ears through ear molds or earplugs. Sweat has many opportunities to damage the behind-the-ear hearing aids, and sweat is also corrosive to the hearing aids. Daily maintenance must be noted:
①Wipe the hearing aids with a soft dry cloth or tissue, so that the skin behind the ears and the hearing aids Keep it clean, free of sweat and dust.
②The ear mold should be kept clean. If earwax and dirt are blocking the sound outlet, sound channel, or vent, it must be cleaned. Before cleaning, remove the hearing aid from the ear mold, clean it with special cleaning tools and brushes, and then rinse it with warm water and mild detergent. Thoroughly dry the earmold sound channels and vents after cleaning. Do not clean ear molds with alcohol. If the sound tube on the ear mold becomes hard, yellow, or cracked, it should be replaced immediately.
③Dry the hearing aids in a drying box regularly to remove moisture that has penetrated into the hearing aids.
④Be careful to operate switches and potentiometers like the aforementioned cassette hearing aids. Due to the failure of the switch and potentiometer, it will cause poor contact and noise of the hearing aid.
(3) In-the-ear (including in-the-ear, in-the-canal, and deep-in-the-canal) hearing aids are placed directly in the ear when used. It is small in size, beautiful in wearing effect, and convenient for making calls. Please note for normal use:
①On objects with soft surfaces (such as beds, sofas, etc.), be careful to wear and remove hearing aids, and do not drop them on hard objects.
②Clean your hearing aids at least twice a week, and increase the cleaning frequency if there is too much earwax. Use a soft dry cloth or cotton ball to clean the surface, and use a brush to remove earwax around the sound outlet and air vents (because the sound outlet is blocked, the sound will be reduced in light, and the receiver will be damaged in severe cases). Remember not to wash with water. If a cerumen-proof baffle is installed at the sound outlet of the hearing aid, the baffle can be removed to remove the earwax to ensure that the surrounding area of the cerumen baffle is completely clean, and even if a new baffle is replaced, the ear canal is kept clean and hygienic.
③Never insert any utensils directly into the sound outlet and ventilation holes.
④Dry the hearing aids in a drying box regularly to remove moisture that penetrates into the hearing aids.
Finally, I would like to remind everyone that if the hearing aid is not worn for a long time, the battery should be removed, because the leakage of the battery will seriously damage the hearing aid movement. Do not wear hearing aids when bathing, washing your face, raining, beauty makeup, etc., to avoid mechanical collisions with hearing aids, and do not try to repair hearing aids by yourself. Hearing aids should be stored in a cool, dry place, not in high temperature and humid places, and always read the hearing aid instructions carefully.
If you use it carefully, maintain it carefully, and provide a good working environment for the hearing aid, it will definitely reward you with a stable working condition and a long service life.
