Where to play paragliderHow to play paragliderPrecautions for paragliding

1. Where can you play paragliding

Paragliding is a kind of flying sport invented by a group of pilots who love parachuting and hang gliding. People fly freely in the sky , enjoying the tranquility and beauty of ‘breaking away’ from the earth’s gravity. Many people enjoy the feeling of gliding down from the sky while wearing a paraglider, overlooking the scenery below. So where can you go paragliding?

Generally speaking, because paragliding has certain risks, it usually needs to be played in a special place. For domestic paragliding, you usually go to the local paragliding club or paragliding base to play. The paragliding bases include Linlushan International Paragliding Base, Yonganshan Paragliding Base, Golden Beach Falcon Paragliding Base, etc. You can check online what paraglider clubs are in your area, and then contact us for consultation.

Second, How to play paragliding

There are two ways to play paragliding: solo flight and instructor-led flying. If the instructor leads the flight, you don’t need to think about it. The instructor controls the whole process and experiences the feeling of gliding. If you fly by yourself, the gameplay process is generally as follows:

1. Take-off: The take-off of the paraglider requires a windward slope with a length of 10 meters and a slope of about 15 degrees. The takeoff must be facing the wind direction, the pilot controls the wing to inflate to the top of the head and starts to accelerate the takeoff. Usually when the airspeed of the wing reaches about 6 m/s, the person will be taken off the ground, and the take-off will be completed within 3 steps for an experienced pilot.

2. Steering: The paraglider can steer freely. The paraglider has a braking group rope, the braking group is connected to the tail end of the wing, and the left and right hands hold the corresponding brake handle when flying. When the brake handle on one side is pulled down, the tail section of the side is pulled down, the resistance increases, and the wing will rotate in this direction, so as to achieve the purpose of turning.

3. Climbing: The paraglider itself has no power and must rely on external force to climb. In clear weather, the pilot can climb to the height of the cumulus clouds that day by controlling the flight direction to enter the thermal, usually a dew point height of 2000 to 4000 meters. Or in the weather with strong wind, relying on the dynamic airflow caused by the mountain shape to linger on the steep slopes and cliffs, usually relying on the dynamic airflow to obtain a limited height, which is basically equivalent to the height of the mountain.

4. Descending: If there is no external force, the paraglider will usually descend at a speed of 1 to 1.5 meters per second.

3. What are the precautions for paragliding

1. Paragliding is a sport with a high risk factor, so you must find professional clubs and coaches .

2. It is strictly forbidden to perform paragliding after being overtired, having a reaction after taking medicine or drinking alcohol.

3. Participating in paragliding should be free from diseases such as heart disease, fear of heights and high blood pressure that are not suitable for high-altitude sports, and the age should not be too high or too low.

4. You should reduce the difficulty to fly within your flying skill level.

5. Before the first flight, the ground training time should not be less than 10 hours.

6. Before flying, be sure to do data collection, warm-up exercises and preparations, including collecting weather information and choosing a take-off location. The pre-flight inspection work includes: checking the canopy for tears, punctures and abrasions, etc.; checking whether there are foreign objects such as sand and gravel in the canopy, so as not to affect the flight performance; checking whether the paracord is tangled or worn; checking The connection of the parachute line to the control strap, and the connection of the control line to the collar; check whether the radio communication is effective.

7. Direction control during flight: There is a control rope on the left and right of the main lift belt

in the front group of the paraglider, which is easy to operate, but the movement must be gentle. When you want to turn left or right in flight, gently pull down the left or right control rope, turn it to the desired direction, and then put it back gently. In the case of failure of the control rope, the direction can be controlled with the help of the two main lifting belts behind. The operation method is the same as that of the control rope.

8. Deceleration in flight: When you want to decelerate, you can pull down the control rope, but avoid decelerating too much.

9. How to land: When landing, face the wind and pull the control rope to your shoulders. When you are about to land, slowly pull the control rope below your waist. If you encounter turbulence during the landing, you will need to prepare for a roll with your legs together and your knees together. When rolling, the more muscular part of the body should be used to touch the ground first. The canopy should be vented immediately after landing.

10. Precautions for flying in turbulent flow: the lighter the pilot, the greater the impact of turbulence. When flying in turbulent flow, the control rope should be pulled 30 percent-40 percent above the chest. Be especially vigilant of turbulence when approaching the ground or a hillside.
