Skills and precautions for water rescue
On the principle of shore rescue, it is not easy to go into the water for rescue
‘Breathing’ is the basis of all water rescue activities. Breathing is called ‘Life-saving Qi’. Only by mastering the method of water breathing can we race against time to rescue drowning people, and breathing will also run through the entire water rescue process.
In the case of someone drowning, rescuers should deal with the following four aspects:
1. When seeing someone drowning, the first response should be to call for help in order to cause The attention of the surrounding people, if the rescuers themselves are not familiar with water, they can call the people who are familiar with water. As the saying goes, more people are more powerful, and attracting the attention of other people can make follow-up rescue operations more timely and efficient.
2. Call 119 or 110 to call the police, and contact the 120 emergency unit in time.
3. Rescuers can use life-saving equipment to rescue the more awake drowning. These life-saving equipment includes lifebuoys, bamboo poles, wooden boards, foam blocks, ropes, etc. Rescuers should respond in time and create rescue conditions in the limited environment they are in. If the drowning person is close to the land, you can use a bamboo pole to rescue the drowning person; if you are far away from the land, you can tie the rope to the lifebuoy and throw it to the drowning person. Keep a clear head and avoid panic.
4. After the above three methods are performed, if the drowning person cannot get out of the water, without the assistance of others, the rescuer can fix one end of the rope to a wooden stake or stone on the land , and tie the other end firmly to your waist before entering the water. However, Wang Tao believes that it is not a last resort. In the case of rescue, it is best not to go into the water, but to use the principle of shore rescue.
