Wiring diagram of household electric meter

Do you know how to wire a household electric meter? A single-phase meter is a device used to measure the power consumption in ordinary household circuits, which are used to supply power to various household appliances. Single-phase electricity meters have the characteristics of low energy consumption and high reliability. Now, let’s learn about the wiring method of household single-phase electricity meter.

Single-phase active watt-hour meter (abbreviation: single-phase watt-hour meter) is composed of terminal, current coil, voltage coil, metering turntable, and counter. As long as the current coil passes current, and voltage is applied to the voltage coil , the turntable is rotated by electromagnetic force… The single-phase watt-hour meter has a total of 5 terminals, two of which are short-circuited with connecting pieces inside the meter, so the single-phase watt-hour meter has only 4 external terminals. That is, terminals 1, 2, 3, and 4. Due to the different models of watt-hour meters, each type of watt-hour meter has a wiring diagram of 4 terminals in the lead-sealed cover.

The wiring diagram of household electric meter is as follows:

Direct connection method:

If the power of the load is Within the allowable range of the watt-hour meter, that is, the current flowing through the current coil of the watt-hour meter will not cause the coil to burn, then the direct access method is used.

The single-phase watt-hour meter has four terminals, numbered 1, 2, 3, and 4 from left to right.

There are generally two types of wiring: 1 and 3 are connected to the incoming line, and 2 and 4 are connected to the outgoing line; Regardless of the connection method, the phase wire (live wire) must be connected to the terminals of the current coil of the meter. Due to the special wiring of some electric meters, the specific wiring method needs to be connected according to the wiring diagram on the terminal cover.

Access method via transformer:

Use a single-phase watt-hour meter to measure the power consumption of a single-phase circuit with a large current When the current transformer is used for current transformation, the current transformer should be connected to the current coil of the watt-hour meter. There are two connection methods:

(1) The connection method when terminals 5 and 1 in the single-phase watt-hour meter are not disconnected.

Because the shorting piece in the meter is not disconnected, the K2 terminal of the transformer is forbidden to be grounded.

(2) The connection method when the shorting tabs of terminals 5 and 1 in the single-phase watt-hour meter are disconnected.

Since the shorting piece in the meter has been disconnected, the K2 terminal of the transformer should be grounded. At the same time, the voltage coil should be connected to both ends of the power supply.

The above is the connection method of the electric meter, as well as the wiring diagram of the household electric meter. I remind everyone to pay attention to safety when wiring household electric meters!
